Climate & Tech Hackathon

The Caribbean Climate Justice Project Climate and Tech Hackathon is a regional event designed to build youth capacity and spark innovation at the intersection of climate and technology. By viewing climate change through both an environmental and justice lens, it seeks solutions that not only use technology but also address inequalities faced by vulnerable Caribbean communities. The Hackathon will guide participants to develop inclusive, context-specific tools that promote fairness, dignity, and resilience across Small Island Developing States.

Genisis Alfred, Program Manager, and Leandra Pinel, Program Officer at Youth IRIE and Climate Justice, proudly announce the launch of their very first Climate and Tech Hackathon. Tune in to discover what all the buzz is about!

Advocacy

Advocacy for timely and appropriate actions to lessen the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities and populations is very dear to us. Additionally, we have a responsibility to ensure that in the transition to a sustainable future, everyone is given an opportunity to participate and to benefit.

Education & Outreach

Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement them. We are also keen on learning from the experiences of those who have preceded us and adapting these to fit our present circumstances.

Community Development

We view every challenge as an opportunity: an opportunity to learn, an opportunity to teach, and opportunity to mobilize, an opportunity to collaborate, an opportunity to improve. But we recognize that the best way to do this is at the grass-roots level. This is why working with communities is an important element of what we do.
