Executive Director of the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center, Dr. Colin Young, will be one of the feature speakers during the official closing ceremony of the inaugural Virtual Caribbean Youth Parliament on Climate Justice 

A Little About Colin Young

The Executive Director of the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center (CCCCC), Dr. Colin Young, will be one of the guest speakers during the Closing Ceremony of the Inaugural Virtual Caribbean Youth Parliament on Climate Justice, which will take place on Thursday 23 September 2021.

 

The CCCCC is an inter-governmental organization mandated to lead the Caribbean’s response to managing and adapting to climate change in addition to serving as the main repository for regional and national information on climate change.

 

Colin Young served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Social Security Board, a parastatal entity that administers Belize’s Social Security Fund from 2017 to 2019 were he championed contribution reform, technology transformation and numerous legislative changes. Previously to that, he served as the CEO in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, the Environment, Sustainable Development, where he had overall responsibilities for all the portfolios, including climate change, other than agriculture.

 

Prior to working in the public sector, Colin was an Assistant Professor at Galen University, where he was also the Director of Galen University’s Environmental Science program and MBA program. At Galen, he co-developed Galen’s flagship program in sustainable development at both the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels.
